The Shagin Law Group LLC is a group of lawyers each with their own practice areas and specialties.
CRAIG R. SHAGIN was a graduate of Haverford College (B.A.) and Villanova University School of Law (J.D., cum laude). He was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in 1980 and subsequently to the U.S. District court for the Eastern and Middle District of Pennsylvania, The United States Supreme Court, and the US Courts of Appeals for the First, Third, Fourth, and Eleventh Circuit. Prior to opening his own firm, Craig Shagin had been Chief Counsel of the Pennsylvania Department of Commerce, General Counsel of Historic Landmarks for Living in Philadelphia, an associate at the Philadelphia Law Firm of Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis, and a law clerk to the Honorable Edmund B. Spaeth, Jr. Craig is an author of numerous articles on the law and a member of both the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Pennsylvania Bar association. Craig is currently also an Adjunct Professor of Immigration Law at the Widener University Commonwealth Law School.
DANIEL CONKLIN is a graduate of the University of Michigan [B.A.] and the University of Kansas School of Law [J.D.]. He joined the Shagin Law Group in 2014, after having previously worked as attorney advisor at the Kansas City Immigration Court and as a staff attorney at the Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center. Dan is a member of the Michigan Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He has also been admitted to practice before the Western District of Michigan, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Prior to law school, Dan served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Chuquisaca, Bolivia.
JOHNNA J. KOPECKY has been an attorney in the Harrisburg law office of The Shagin Law Group, LLC, since 2003. She was admitted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 1988, and subsequently the United States District Court for the Middle District in Pennsylvania, as well as local bar associations. Ms. Kopecky concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning and administration, real estate, small business set up and planning, and family law. She also represents creditors in the field of Bankruptcy. She was also a former assistant District Attorney for Cumberland County, handling asset seizures and forfeitures.
Ms. Kopecky earned her B.S. degree from The Pennsylvania State University, and her J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law (now The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University). She has written materials for and lectured to, attorneys and paralegals in the areas of estate planning and administration, real estate title law and procedure, real estate transfer taxes, as well as easements, bankruptcy from the creditor’s side, and mortgage foreclosures.
